Post Rehab Wellness Program
What is a Medical Exercise Specialist?
A MES is a fitness professional who not only works with the typical client looking to improve their health and fitness level, but who also has gained the knowledge and skills to work with clients who present a wide range of medical conditions. These atypical clients are “post rehab” in that they are referred to a fitness professional and now need a fitness program tailored to their particular medical condition.
Medical Exercise Specialist fitness services can help “Bridge the Gap Between Health Care and Fitness” by offering corporate employers and insurance companies a way to minimize work related injuries and/or keep employees working at higher functional level through a combination of education lectures and hands on conditioning courses.
Our health and fitness program does not purport to provide any aspect of medical treatment of a client’s condition. Each client will complete a musculoskeletal and/or cardiovascular FITSCREEN prior to beginning any activity. The client will be sent back to their referring practitioner. If he or she demonstrates any of the following red flags:
What is our Role in the Health Care System?
At Body Trainers fitness, we are here to help clients transitioning from medical care by Physician, Physical Therapist or Chiropractor into a conditioning program that will speed the healing process and improve their overall functional fitness. This type of training is designed to assist the individual return to optimal function after the acute and subacute phase of the medical treatment. Clients need a way to maintain, improve or minimize reoccurring injury by becoming actively involved in fitness/exercise program that specifically targets their individual needs. But how can they accomplish this on their own without risk of re-injury?
With our post rehabilitation program we can provide an exercise program that specifically addresses the need of the client. As a Medical Exercise Specialist and Professional Fitness Trainer we can target the clients conditioning need. What separates Body Trainers from the average personal trainer is the clinical knowledge of anatomy and pathology for medical conditions affecting the upper and lower extremity, spine, as well as cardiovascular and neurological conditions. We are a unique fitness service that can provide fitness and exercise programs to meet the individual medical needs of your clients.
Whether your goal is Functional Training, Weight Loss, Sports Performance Training, Strength, Balance and Stability Training, TRX Suspension Training, Human Performance Enhancement Training or Post-Rehab Fitness, our professional Medical Exercise will help you achieve your fitness goals and beyond.
